Morning Juice

Good morning bloggers,

Hope everyone had a great start to their morning. Here on the Gold Coast it is a beautiful winters day... the suns out, there is no wind and it seems more like the beginning of summer than the middle of winter.

To make the most of this amazing morning, I woke up and prepared my daily juice. I use a Nutri bullet, which are amaaaazing, if you do not own one of these do yourselves a favour, honestly. My juice recipe today included-

  • 2 large handfuls of spinach
  • 1 banana
  • 1 zucchini
  • 1/2 cup of oats
  • Instead of water I used green tea.
  • I also added in a tablespoon of chia seeds and of course my fav at the moment, spirulina.
I am currently writing to you all on my amazing deck overlooking my green wonderland. So blessed to live somewhere so magical, quiet and surrounded by nature. Perfect way to spend breakfast each morning. Lets be real, the beach is amazing and I love spending my days on the beach and in the salt water, however, I would be a fool to take my mini rainforest for granted.

Hope you all have an amazing day.

Post Workout Drink

Good afternoon bloggers,

I recently discovered an amazing recipe for a post workout drink... If you love fresh juices then you are going to loooove this recipe. Personally I stopped drinking protein shakes after my training sessions as they did not make me feel great afterwards, plus I was constantly suffering headaches shortly after consuming one. I tried everything, pre workout drinks, post workout drinks, eating a massive protein/carb filled meal, nothing stopped the headaches. So I tried juicing and it has been a revelation.

I am going to share with you all my juice recipe that I put together.

  •  2 handfuls of spinach (great source of protein and a natural plant steroid called phytoecdysteroids, think Popeye)
  •  1 banana (will replenish your energy levels)
  •  half a cup of papaya (contain enzymes to help break down proteins and inflammatory properties to help speed up recovery)
  • half a cup of rolled oats (low gi levels meaning it is a slow burning carbohydrate, provides your body with long lasting fuel)
  • Other optional ingredients are sunflower seeds, acai powder, semolina (my absolute favourite thing at the moment), coco powder, extra virgin olive oil and some chia sees (are a must)

Whisk all ingredients in a blender or if you have a Nutri Bullet and blend away. It might look green and gooey but it tastes delicious and better yet contains amazing nutrients which your body will love you for. Remember to stay hydrated.

Enjoy xxx

Introduction

Hello fellow bloggers,

Thanks firstly for viewing my blog, today will just be a quick introduction about myself. As you are all probably aware, my name is Samantha and I am a complete and utter health nut. Not that I dont have naughty treats here and there, I have just always been a foodie. Growing up, my mum would always cook from all different cultures cuisines, so naturally I grew up the biggest food lover. However, the more I learnt about food the more I became aware of health and nutrition which then lead me to pursue a career as a Nutritionist.

Since studying nutrition and dietetics, I have been introduced to a whole world of knowledge about health and what is actually in the food we consume. I could not believe how difficult it is to find the right information about natural remedies and natural healing products. I am so thankful since studying and researching these past years, and it is my turn to give back to the public about what I have learnt so far. In the coming days I will be posting blogs about health, nutrition, fun recipes, tips and everything else. So stick around and keep an eye out for my updates. I assure you they wont be boring. ;)

If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact me via my email address found on my profile. I would love to hear your feedback. For a further look into my life follow me on instagram to see what I get up to weekly.

Would also like to thank my best friend and fellow blogger Kelly for helping me set up my blog/profile, hehe. www.denim-heart.blogspot.com.au check her out.
